Profile

With over two decades of financial advisory experience, spanning the banking sector, Dr. Dahiru Muhammed currently serves as the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Technology/Information Transfer (PICTT), where he leads strategic efforts to promote industrial growth, facilitate trade expansion, establish co- investment hubs, and advance national food security through targeted policy frameworks and collaborative projects. Prior to his current role, Dr. Dahiru Muhammed held key executive positions, including serving as Regional Bank Manager, where he oversaw multi-branch operations, ensured regulatory compliance, and significantly improved financial performance. He also served as Chairman, Nigeria Czech Republic Trade and Investment Council and Special Adviser to EVC of National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure NASENI.
Dr. Dahiru Muhammed has several notable accomplishments under his belt, including Delta 2 Program designed with the aim of funding and enabling research, development and innovation of projects and commercialisation; he also initiated the Irrigate Nigeria Project. Through this initiative, he has driven strategic partnerships for the local manufacturing of irrigation equipment—enhancing agricultural productivity and advancing national food security. He currently leads efforts to strengthen agricultural resilience through irrigation-focused investments and integrated value chain collaborations.
Dr. Dahiru Muhammed holds both a Master’s and a Doctorate in Business Administration. He also holds a certificate in Strategic Leadership from Harvard University. His professional affiliations include: Fellow, Chartered Institute of Loans and Risk Management of Nigeria; Fellow, Chartered Certified Forensic Accountant/Auditor (FCCrFA); Fellow, Chartered Certified Fraud Investigators (FCCFI); Fellow, Association of Chartered Certified System Accountants (ACCSA), USA; and Member, Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).

    Conceptualized, initiated, and fully developed a National Irrigation Program, resulting in an agreement to establish an Irrigation Equipment, Valves, and Fittings Manufacturing Plant in Nigeria with Siwatec Group as investors. Brokered a $25 million franchise deal with Ecopanely to build a strawboard manufacturing plant in Nigeria using agricultural waste.

    Led the successful implementation of the Nigeria–Czech Republic tech agreement, achieving a 40% boost in knowledge and innovation transfer, successfully negotiated a groundbreaking partnership with Zlin Zoo to protect endangered species at Yankari Game Reserve strengthening environmental ties with the Czech Republic, and attracted investments resulting in 15% increase in economic prosperity

  • 22 Years at Fidelity Bank Plc (1999-2021)

    Progressive leadership from Senior Relationship Manager to Regional Bank Head, Abuja. Directed public sector banking, led multiple branch expansions, and drove a 40% market penetration increase. Managed over 80,000 retail customers, consistently exceeded financial targets, and secured foreign trade deals while overseeing operational excellence and team leadership.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I'm a dedicated family man. My wife Salmah and our children Khadijah, Nadyne, and Fudail are my inspiration and remind me daily of the importance of balance and purpose in all that I do.

Ekopanely Nigeria Project

Ekopanely Group, in partnership with NASENI, has expanded into Nigeria to locally produce eco-friendly strawboard panels for the construction sector. Under a Franchise Agreement signed on June 16, 2022, the project operates on a Build, Operate, and Franchise (BOF) model. This Public-Private Partnership aims to deliver affordable housing through the National Housing Fund (NHF), starting with one production line and scaling to ten, supporting Nigeria’s drive for sustainable industrialization and green housing.

VARI, a leading manufacturer of mini-tractors and farming equipments, is actively working with NASENI to supply, assemble, and sub-assemble agricultural equipment locally. The company has committed to full technology transfer, including the provision of design drawings and technical support, to enable local manufacturing. This partnership builds on Nigeria’s existing technical capacity and marks a significant step toward strengthening the country’s agricultural mechanization through homegrown solutions.

It is a call to action and bold step toward addressing the gender imbalance in engineering and technology, where women represent only 5% of engineers in Nigeria compared to the global average of 28%. This program is a clarion call to young women with innovative, commercially viable ideas to step forward, break barriers, and lead the charge in building a dynamic science and engineering infrastructure for our nation.

The Delta-2 programme covers the areas of applied research and technology transfer for Agriculture, mining and general manufacturing to enhance collaboration between academia and the industry with a target to commercialise Nigeria’s research outputs in order to improve the nation’s economy.
